Create half chamfer on cylinder

I want to add a chamfer to a cylinder without going all around the circumference. How would I add a chamfer or alternativley create some slope to half the area on a cylinder top section

I have created a cylinder with a full chamfer on the top section, but I want it just on one half wilst the other half has no chamfer.

I'm pretty sure you can create a drawing and then make a line though the middle, and then champfer. I'll upload a screencast if you want.

Did you say you wanted a gradual champfer for half? Is that what you mean?

Ok great thanks! I read about slicing and lofting from other threads, but not very clear how to actually do it... I am trying to create a slant on the top of the cylinder

Yes I want to create a slant, but thought I could do it with a chamfer and then cutting it, but I think there area other ways like slice or loft.. not sure.. but a slant on the top of the cylinder is what I need.

It would actually be cool to know how to do both... 🙂 But was initially looking to do the second one, but knowing how to do the first would also be helpful since I am trying out a couple of different adjustments

i would just make profile sketch of the chamfer and do a extrude cut across the part you want to remove.

Cool solution and probably uses less operations than what I did. There a several differnt ways of how to do this. Another one would use a sweep.
