Hi everyone! I made this little carrying case for myself that I plan to 3D print. Before I do that, can anyone tell me if the screw threads match and will work when I use them in real life? This is my first project like this so I want to learn and avoid mistakes. Thank you in advance!

It looks like it should work, a lot will depend on the accuracy of your printer.

Just spotted a problem, the hole in the cap is off centre, I think it's because you added the hole after adding the thread and picked the centre of the face. After looking at this I see how small the thread and part is and I'm not too sure how well it will print.

I have a couple of tips for you.

See these threads for info on how to add chamfers to the threads, it will help get rid or the feather edges.

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/post-your-tips-and-tutorials/how-to-chamfer-modeled-threaded-holes/td-p/5946552

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/post-your-tips-and-tutorials/chamfer-threaded-rod/td-p/5946660

And if you have more than one part in a file you should be using components, they will allow you to assemble the parts as well as help organize your designs, see this thread.

Here I made your bodies into components so I could assemble them then use a section analysis to section the bodies.

Although I made your bodies into components it's not good practice as all the features that made them remain part of the main component.

Mark
