Offset - Can't

Hello,

Fusion is great, but I'm trying to offset a line and can't select anything. I'm on the right plane. What could I be doing wrong?

I've looked at the support, videos and others but still nothing.

I'm trying to manipulate lines which have been projected from bodies to a plane.. if this is a clue.

Hard to say without any pictures or the curves. Have you used project include 3d so the curves are above the sketch plane. If you look from the side are they above the plane.

Here are pics. I'm trying to offset red lines. Don't tell me you can't offset offsetted lines (that's not even a word)

It should work, I just tried offsetting some projected curves and the only way I could make if fail was to break the link and move them above the plane so they're in effect 3d. Can you move the sketch into a component then right click the component and export and save as an f3d.

If you are trying to offset curves that are already offset, that is a limitation of the offset command. I cannot tell from your images whether this is true or not, but your comment at the end leads me to ask. If you need to do this, just offset from the original curve again.

I just remembered seeing that - thou shalt not offset twice.... But this sketch is projected from a 3d body.

Lines I've drawn are blue, the projection is red and has projected points as well. Even when on the correct plane I can't select red or blue, yet when I draw a line I can offset it immediately after. (before using Stop Sketch)

What do the colors mean?

I just did this. Line on the default XY plane, offset worked. I stopped sketch, started it again and couldn't select anything.

Does Fusion keep sketches separate, even on the same plane? Do I have to select a timeline or dropdown sketch to further manipulate it?

I suspect that you have hit on the problem, @fishtruk. Yes, each time you do "Create Sketch", you get a new sketch, even on the same plane. And yes, you can only offset (or fillet, or trim, or dimension to, etc.) geometry that is in the same sketch as you are editing.

Thanks. I now see that if I select the plane, not the sketch, that I can offset BUT only if I select the line before I select Offset. I think this is different than what I saw in an instructional video. The person was clicking things left and right. Has this feature changed since that video?
