Went blind reading search results. This should be simple like most other software but I don't see the light.

I have two rectangle sketches on the same plane. One larger than the other.

I need them to have the same center point. Nothing pops up to indicate the center when moving them around.

Can I buy a clue please.

You using Center Rectangle to create?

No?

Can you add a diagonal construction line corner to corner in each and then Midpoint - Coincident constraint?

Could you do Offset instead?

Can you attach your *.f3d file here?

Thanks

Used 2 point rectangles. no sign of any center points.

tried construction lines

tried conincedence

failing to make any of it work together.

Looking for videos but so far none have 2 rectangles.

Attempt #XXXXXXXXX

Errr, you meant apply construction lines, then mid point constraint and then coincidence.

That works

Geeze, that seems like a lot of work for something simple.

Thanks

Get lazy! Promote the CenterPoint Rectangle up to your ribbon.

I use that rectangle probably 90% of the time in all of the various CAD programs that I use.

If you do want two rectangles with a common center point and have used two center-point-rectangles, why did you delete the construction lines and why would you want to delete the constraints ?

If all you want to do is two rectangles and maybe, possibly, an extruded body or two from it, in that case you're fine.

However as your design and CAD skills increase you'll find that design is a very iterative process and for many things need adjustment and finetunig. As it pertains to sketches, constraints and construction lines are there to maintain the design intent while you are editing. The constraints and construction lines intros case make sure that the rectangles remain to be rectangles and not trapezoids or other 2-sided polygons. The construction lines help keeping the rectangles centered.
