It's not faster when you have scores of them. Well, not faster for me, anyway. Maybe it would be with practice. I'm just learning this software and I have a lot of stuff from 2D programs that I'd like to convert over.

I was also interested in just how I check on the status of a problem (any problem). I haven't found a way to do that other than asking here. Which is fine, but I don't like bothering people if I can do things myself.

I have not been successful in getting DXF files (created in CorelDraw) to extrude properly after uploading to Fusion 360. I created a quick and dirty file to show the issue (my real drawing get's so screwed up it's hard to see what's happening). My DXF files open correctly and function correctly in Rhino 5. Any ideas? Sample DXF is attached. Thank you.

Imported DXF:

Extrusion:

Front View of extrusion showing original:

Resulting Extrusion:

Hi dsgoen,

Thanks for reporting the issue and kindly attach the f3d file. I can reproduce your problem easily.

Now I have internally reported FUS-25925 to track this issue and sent to developer to take a look at. Hopefully this issue will be addressed soon.

Thanks,

Frank

Thank you for the quick response.

By the way, I didn't save the file I used for the screenshots, so I made it again. Note that the results, while still wrong, are different. The only thing that I'm aware of changing the second time is that I closed out Fusion 360 earlier and reopened it for this demo.

David

Fusion thinks the shape is not a closed profile, if it is closed it will show up as being yellow inside the sketch.

it is not broken it is a fusion bug

it would be quicker for you to just redraw it

@dsgoen the only way is to ask if they give you a number it is unusable for us, only fusion staff can look into problem numbers.

the sketch you posted is broken in quite a few places, if you draw a heap of line through it, it close's it in places but it still is broken to fusion.

it is not broken if I run it through Autocad360 or V carve pro it is fine so they have to find the why, another program has the same problem with it's .dxf in fusion they come in broken but are not.

it will be in the solver where the problem is but there is a lot of different file types out there that you will always find one that gets broken,

I will run it through V carve pro again and re export it back out as a .dxf and see if that fixes it.

well that worked it is unitless but is closed and very useable, file attached.

how many files do you have that need converted.
