As always thanks for posting this. There is a bug logged for it now. Definitely unexpected results.

Fortunately you did find a way to make the shape as only one body, so there is not really a workaround needed, just avoid picking the profiles in a disjointed manner, which is the expected workflow. This almost qualifies as bad error handling, but there is technically no error, just unexpected results. If this has deeper impact, please let us know what that is. Does the result of 2 bodies instead of 1 block any workflows? That would add some weight to the bug report.

For our newer Fusion customers: there are actually several ways to revolve this shape without any problems.

1. Reduce picks: Do not turn off chaining, just pick the entire outer profile, including the axis, as your revolve shape.

2. For even fewer picks, revolve the sketch profiles (the yellow shaded areas inside the edges).

3. Or just pick the edges in order, from top to bottom, without skipping around.

In all of these workflows a single Patch body is created with 5 faces.

Thanks,

how in what order you select edges is important to get one body

3rd time you see I get two bodies - is that intended? makes no sense!

@Phil.EMaybe this is not a bug but a bad way to list edges.

Essentially by hand you pick the chains but the way how you can pick the chain links right now can result into two different outcomes or even more if you randomize the edge selection even more.

I do not know any application that works this way.

The UI also does not provide any insight.

So I think as stated bad chaining or error handling is maybe a better problem tag.

However to follow common workflow conventions I would fix this.

While this does not break the design it however if not aware of it requires more features to add (Stitch) later to get the same correct outcome.

Thanks for the confirmation. It definitely is a bug for the reasons you show and a case is logged for this specific instance. If you ever find a case where this bug completely blocks a workflow, please send it my way and I'll add it to this one.
