Thank you for sharing your file.

I was able to reproduce the issue and I will get in touch with Fusion 360 development team.

I will try to find a work around and keep you updated.

Animation Update Problem

I set up an animation with multiple components showing an assembly process. The screencast shows a small portion of the animation and then shows the finished assembly. I then go into modeling and make a minor change to the geometry of one part, go back to animation and it is almost completely ruined including parts that had seemingly nothing to do with the changed part. Some trail lines even introduced themselves. I show a portion of the animation again and jump to the end where the many of the parts are misaligned. I realize most animations would be the last in the design process to be produced but not even being able to make a minor change without having to redo the entire animation doesn't seem right. Am I expecting too much or is something amiss - perhaps there is a work around or I have improperly set something up? Your opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Matt

Thank you for the detailed description. It is a bit tricky to understand what actually happens.

Could you might share a screen cast with us? This would be very helpful for us to see why the parts become misaligned.

Thanks,

I'm sorry Mike. I thought I did include a screen cast. Let me try again. Maybe I missed a step.

I still don't see the screen cast when I look at this post. I will try once more.

Thank you for sharing your screen cast. I could see that just a change in the dimension is changing the Animation.

I have tried to reproduce this on my computer but it is a bit tricky.

Could you might share an example file with us where this happens? I´m curious to see what is causing the change in the Animation.

You could send the link via a private message as well if you like to.

I can't reproduce my problem with a simple model either so I take that to mean that Fusion 360 tries to maintain component positions even after model geometry updates. Since the problem seems to be model specific I can supply you with access but I would prefer to do it via private message as I am trying to sell this idea to a customer and would rather not spread it all over the internet any more than necessary.
Unfortunately, it's my first time and I need a little guidance. What is the link you are referring to? A quick check on the forum didn't seem to supply any 'How to' either. Can you help with some instructions.
Matt

Previously
Hi @matt.soule, Thank you for sharing your screen cast.
