Current "Legacy" commercial subscriber, now an engineering student.

I have decided to start a new post, since the old post was sidetracked and was never really answered - although I did discover some disappointing news about the benefits of a "Legacy" subscription that isn't an "Early Adopter". You can read more about it here. The other poster, who posts often on this forum, is an "Early Adopter", unlike me.

For the record, I do not have any special benefits as a "Legacy" subscriber, except that I will never pay more than $310 per year for my subscription. That's it - the only unique benefit.

I would like your personal perspective on whether it makes any sense for me to drop this subscription for the next four years, since I am and will be a full-time engineering student. I could save $1240! Do the pros outweigh the cons? Am I missing anything? What do student accounts have or lack, in comparison to commercial accounts?

EDIT: changed "benefit" to "subscription" in the first sentence of the last paragraph.

As an engineering student, perhaps you should do the math😁 Assuming a 10% yearly increase in price, it would cost more than $5700 for the next 8 years or $3400 for the final 4 years. Paying for your legacy license for the 4 years of school is pretty much a no brainer if you will continue to use Fusion.

Thanks though.

It's the other stuff, like - what does a student license include, that a Legacy commercial subscription doesn't? That's really the question I'm asking here. I am also looking for other quirks about this that aren't obvious, like sunken cost. I don't want to throw money at something now, especially when there are alternatives available for free, for now, if the Fusion of the future isn't called Fusion 360 anymore and Legacy Fusion 360 subscriptions won't be honored. Nobody outside Autodesk has a crystal ball for that, but I'll take just thinking out loud about it.

The kind of question that helps me decide: Does HSMWorks come with a student license of Fusion 360 (I actually want to know that!)? I am looking for other situations that take the question into context like that.
