There are a lot of different drawing standards out there other than just ISO and ASME, are there any plans to implement other standards such as AS1100 in the drawings workspace?

If not are there any plans to make it easier to specify all of the settings used in a drawing such as text orientation, symbol library, border style, etc?

A lot of the less common standards are largely combinations of ISO and ASME and having the ability to select between the two for each "feature" would allow users to at least get as close as possible to their local standard.

The short answer is that we are working to make standards more flexible. I’d love to meet with you to understand what your expectations are, and to see how aligned they are to our plans. Please book a zoom session with me (link in my signature). Note times are in 00:00 format, so 03:00 is 3am.

Hi @ClintBrown3D, I'm not sure I'm knowledgeable enough on the subject to be worth giving my perspective, I just know that coming from other software with a broader range of standards makes it much easier to comply with local standards. As it stands in fusion it isn't easy to do anything to customise standards outside of line thickness/style and the projection type. My ideal scenario would be that AS1100 would be available as one of the options in the dropdown list, but failing that making it possible to make custom sharable standards as part of the templating system or something like that would be great.

Hi @john_swanston

It certainly did. As promised, the team delivered standards that are more flexible.

Most international standards (DIN/JIS/BS/AS etc.) are based on the ISO standard.

We've introduced far more flexibility to Document Settings, giving you more control over your drawing template setup. This means that you can make tweaks to the standard ISO template to suit your regional requirements.

In Document Settings, you can now control practically every element on the drawing. The biggest regional differences in ISO-based standards, that customers told us about, were to do with Section Lines and Delimiters (comma versus decimal delimiters). The way that Section Lines are displayed (full-line length, line type and colour) are now editable in document settings. We also introduced comma versus decimal point delimiters.

One other thing that may be handy for AS customers is the ability to set up a 3rd angle ISO template (instructions here)

One of the things that stands in the way of adapting Fusion to other drawings standards is the ordinate dimension feature. So far it only allows ISO/ASME style ordinate dimensions. In post-soviet space ordinate dimensions are done very differently as per GOST 2.109. Example:

@ClintBrown3DWould it be possible to introduce more flexibility in the dimension leader styles? Specifically, I’m working within an ISO drawing template but would like the option to use 'jogged' dimension leaders, as shown in the attached screenshot.

From experience—and I believe many others would agree—this kind of leader style greatly improves drawing clarity, especially for dense technical drawings where readability is critical. It would be great to see this added as a customisable option in future updates.

Thanks for all your contributions so far!
