Thank you for the answer, yes it is a very small balance for a 3d solution, in the past Autodesk had the solution ArtCam:

ArtCAM is no longer available. Autodesk ArtCAM® software has been discontinued. As of July 7, 2018,

So I did get the impression that Artcam was the solution i am looking for but not available, in Fusion360 I found the image2surface add-ins but it is not powerful enough.

So I have to stop with trying photo to 3d or somebody knows a solution.

Pls your reaction, Hugo

I am learning fast with Fusion 360, it is super powerful.

At this moment I am importing a Photo using the add-ins Image2surface and make a G-code file.

I am wondering if there is usable software to edit the photo after image2surface or do you know a better process for make 3d from a photo?

If I search on internet I find so many hits and much are dated.

Pls your reaction, Hugo Amsterdam

I don't believe such tools would be useful (if there are any), because such a tool would get you a geometry that consists of 1 single body, most propaly a mesh, similar to the Drape Surface tool in Rhino.

Such tools will depend on the colors of the image to judge the depths of the geometry created, similar to a 3d printed Lithophane, so they are HIGHLY inaccurate.

I believe the only good use for them is if you have an image of a planar surface that you can see all of it's details from one single angle, although the geometry itself would still be messy.

the answer will greatly depend on the nature of the photo graphed object, and what you hope to do with it. A little more detail (and some examples) on those questions would help us give you suitable answers.

all photo to 3d software will produce a mesh. for the most part, fusion sucks with meshes, so there's that. software specific to editing meshes would be better suited. (I use blender and meshmixer).

the image2mesh add in produces a quad mesh. a quad mesh in fusion can be converted to a t-spline body, which can be directly edited in fusion.

Windows 3D builder has a decent image to triangulated mesh feature.

For modeling the exported mesh after, depending what you need done, Meshmixer or Blender.

I'm guessing you are wanting to take a photo, then emboss it into something via milling.
