Insert canvas issue

I'm using a new laptop with Windows 11. I'm trying to import a photo into Fusion via insert canvas. I created a folder on the desktop and put the photo I want to import into the folder. When I open the folder, the picture is there. In Fusion, I click on insert canvas and select insert from my computer. I then navigate to the folder on my desktop and when I open it, the photo isn't there. Also, if I click insert from my computer and navigate to any of my pictures folders, only a fraction of the photos in the folder appear. I am able to select and import any of the photos that do appear. If I move the photo to any of the various folders in my pictures folder, it's never one of the few that display when I navigate there via Fusion. I understand that the issue may well be with my computer but I thought I'd check with the community and see if anyone else has had this issue. Thanks in advance.

is the photo really small, and are canvas' set to Visible in the tree on the left?

what is the file type of the image?

I figured out why I was having problems. The photo I was trying to import via canvas is a HEIC which Fusion apparently doesn't like for some reason. If I convert it to a JPG, it displays and downloads via canvas just fine.
