Box Sculpt Layers?

Total newbie to Fusion360 (1 week) - been thru the tutorials and working on drawing a car in Sculpt - based on the box knife tutorial. But I have run into a strange problem. When altering the surface of the box, there seems to be multiple layers present. For example, if I grab a vertex and push the vertex in, it disappears behind another layer. Is this normal, or have I selected something I should not have done, or am I just messing up!?

The attached screen shot shows a side of the box that has been pulled out and down, and another layer is visible below.

Based on the screenshot it is hard to say what is happening here. It looks like there is a duplicate body, but I don't see one in the Browser! My guess is that there are duplicate, overlapping surfaces. Are any issues when you select Finish Form and try to convert the Sculpt body into a BREP solid/surface body?

Any chance you could share the fusion design here? This will give us better insight. Also recording an Autodesk Screencast is another great way to convey issues.
