Hello and excuse me opening up a new post about this issue even though there are some similar ones. The ones I found are several months old and oftentimes solve the issue "in the next patch". I was googeling the problem and could not find an answer so after a few tries I found the problem and would like to post this to the forums so it can be found through searches.

My problem was that in my rendering view all objects, models, surfaces and meshes were flat black without shading. Whenever I rendered something, the whole image was just completely black. I switched to different standard environments, then from environment to solid color and tried different lighting settings, but nothing happened. So I figured it had nothing to do with the scene settings.

The problem turned out to be the environment library nonetheless: The initial design was created by someone else and shared with me. In rendering view the original creator chose an environment view and downloaded a certain environment he used.

When I started up my Fusion, there was an update available, so all cloud downloads were disabled. I did not realize that and opened the shared file. It gave me a warning about the disabled downloads, but I just paid attention to the missing materials, which were no big deal at the moment.

Now, a few days later I finalized the model and wanted to render it, but of course the environment was still missing. There was no further warning about this at all AND it was set to solid color too. When I switched to using environment, not only the models were black, but the whole scene.

It turned out that what I had to do was: guess which one was the environment used by the original creator, download it now that the update was not preventing me from doing that, and apply it to the scene. Now everything turned back to normal, even solid color mode.

I hope this will help someone out someday.
