I just ran into this interesting behavior with creating a plane through three points:

First I tried creating a plane through three points. Whoops! error! Whaaa?

Edit frature. Two points missing. Huh. OK. Reselect points:

Looks fine, save it:

Wait, what?

Oh, right off the end of some completely different line that has nothing to do with the points I clicked on. I get it now...

Anyone else experience this?

You can make these profile edges adher to these points.

When creating the sketches for the loft (I assume) profiles use the Sketch->Project->Intersect command and select the straight lines. Intersection points will be "projected" where the lines pierce through the sketch plane. Then you can use these poinnts in your sketch. That also will keep things patrametric within reason. Changes in distance between the lines for example will update the profiles so they stay attached to the lines and the lofts should update.

@SEIZMICdesign,

Thank you for sharing your model with me. I was able to edit the plane that you were having an issue with and select the missing point. As far as making points tangent to the lines, points in theory are not able to be tangent to a line. However you can make points coincident to a line, the best workflow it to project and then constrain.

Here is a link of repairing the plane. I reset the points, that step wasn't needed, I just wanted to show another way to approach a solution.

I did day Tangent, didn't I? I meant Coincident. Thanks, sorry for the confusion. Also, I wound up just making a plane at an angle off that center line. Worked fine. I was just trying to be fancy I guess!
