Big thanks to the Fusion Dev Team

In my dealings with Autodesk, (a long time ago...way before Fusion, shortly after your acquisition of Maya) I was very unhappy with Autodesk as a whole. Back then the company seemed to not care much about it's customers and only on it's bottom line.

I have since come to feel that the company values it's customer base and although the bottom line is very important, your employees are the ones that make the personal connections with your customers and drive the end users experience. The Fusion dev team is just as passionate about Fusion and it's users as we are about Fusion and our end experience using it. The fact that you chimed in on a controversial thread personally to me meant a lot, but even more so I have met a group of like minded people on the Dev team and in this great community. Your company recognizes the things the Expert Elites do and values our knowledge in this ever evolving field.

Thank you for Fusion and the fantastic Dev team behind it, each and every one of its members deserves to be recognized and appreciated.

This past week I was able to meet a lot of the Dev team, the experience was so positive it really is hard to put into words. As users of the software we all have desires and we are passionate about our work...that's why we are all here. We are designers, engineers, machinists and makers and we love what we do. Autodesk has given us a CAD/CAM app that is affordable and accessible to everyone. I want everyone to know that they are listening, have they made mistakes and some bad decisions...yes but not because they don't care or because they are not listening. Software development is difficult and everyone wants something different. They are working on everyone's needs but it takes time and constructive feedback from us the community.....the users to get the software where it needs to be.

I just wanted to give a big thanks to the entire dev team for the meet up and most of all for listening to the users about some real problems that need attention. My conversations with each one of you was a fantastic experience for me and you are all great people.

I enthusiastically second Phil’s comments. Going back several years, to Project Forge, it’s incredible to think how much growth there has been. It can’t be easy to balance various disparate groups of users with genuinely different needs, and I think the Fusion team has done a fantastic job.

Kudos also to Autodesk management for letting this new direction take hold. Fusion and Autodesk are aligning with and supporting the changes taking place in the real world of product design and development more successfully than any other company I can think of.

That is very well said, can only second your post!

Very true, there is a BIG positive change in AutoDesk's attitude towards the customers. Many years ago (when Maya was still Alias ) there simply was no easy way to get a direct answer from AD in case of a problem, "go see your local distributor...". You could even speak of an ivory tower in those days.

Now we can send posts to the CEO himself, and equally important, deal almost directly with the development team. For sure no easy feat for the huge leading company AutoDesk is.

AutoDesk is now showing other software manufacturers how it could and should be done!

Kudos for that.
