topic Fusion not properly knitting surfaces? in Fusion Design, Validate & Document Forum

Used a loft to patch an offset surface from the main surface but even after stitching the surfaces together, the fillet shows that they aren't actually properly welded. Any ideas for how to fix this would be much appreciated.

It might help if you can share the design with us.

As a guess, you may be able to:

1. Switch to the Patch environment

2. Select some of the filleted faces along one edge and delete them

3. Use the Create > Patch command to create new surfaces

4. When done, re-creating faces, use the stitch command to stitch it back to a solid

I hope that suggestion helps!

Thanks,

There is nothing to repair, your surfaces are fine. Just look how that "split line" will behave on solid:

Here's a link to the file if you so desire: http://a360.co/2d6G4rH

But it's almost exactly what michallach81 posted. Just seems as though an offset surface from a loft leads to quite a bit of unpredictable results. In the future it seems as though a boolean is much more predictable. Thanks for the tips guys. Let me know if you happen to have any furthers thoughts... Could possibly merge the edges?

That double edge you can treat as just an appearance, math for these surfaces is fine... none of things you mentioned are related, your model is perfect a solid.

Trouble is it'll run into errors when a shell is used.

Trouble is not in stitch, nor in shell, but in a fillet:

Good call - need to remember to always add fillets last - Also, thanks for the video walk through that was really helpful, learned about the section analysis tool from your video too. Thanks and have a good rest of your week!
