topic Print Studio Printer Settings in Fusion Design, Validate & Document Forum

Is there some documentation that explains in more detail the advanced settings in Print Studio? I have a Dremel 3d40 printer and I want to improve the resolution (make it smoother) of a printed part. I know in Print Studio if you hover the mouse over a setting a pop-up appears but it doesn't necessarily tell me what the setting actually does. I would like to know a little more about each setting before I start randomly changing them. I have already contacted Dremel and they said I needed to contact AutoDesk.

David Sewell

Hi @Anonymous!

Welcome to the Fusion 360 online community! It looks like you have some questions about optimizing your use of Print Studio.

I would start by reading through this page and watching this video. Both of these resources give an overview of the features available in Print Studio and the general workflow for 3D printed projects.

For your project, the smoothness or surface finish of 3D printed parts comes from a combination of many factors. To start, you could decrease the surface deviation and use a more refined (higher) mesh when setting up your model for 3D printing in Fusion 360. This could be followed up by altering the settings for layer height, or increasing the sparse infill density to allow for more sanding or hand-finishing of the part.

Hopefully this helps you to better understand some of the features within Print Studio and the 3D printing process workflow! Let me know if you have any other questions, we are happy to help!

Thanks!

hi, i'm also searching the web for a documentation of advanced settings in print studio for the Dremel 3D20 for days now!

are there any news, is there any place where someone can learn about these?

as they are really extensive and 3d printing can in some cases be a very tricky job, this would be so helpful!

thank you, kurt
