Hello community!

I'm working on a project as an industrial designer, making the housing of an electronic smart product, but I had always modeled on 3ds Max, so I'm new in Fusion 360. I already know the basics, and have made some tutorials and seeing a lot of tips on YouTube's Fusion 360 Channel (I use AutoCad too, and used to know something about Inventor, but that was a lot of years behind and I don't remember it very well).

Anyway, the thing is that I want to start doing the project's design in parametric software to give it professionalism and have engineering feedback, but i don't have any idea how to make it. I already tried some things but without the results that I expected.

Please, can someone help me out solving this? I'll really appreciate it! The geometry is very simple and intuitive, but I don't know how to transfer it to the model in Fusion 360 starting in a sketch.

I attached some renders of the product and a few schematic views with dimensions on it.

A geodaesic dome is anything but simple. The fact that it looks simple is very deceptive.

Yeah, I know, I was meaning that it's easy to catch what the model is and how it's done geometricaly. But from saying to doing, it's a lot of difference, especially when you don't know how to use the software very well.

If it would be me I'd use Blender to create an Icosphere and then export he .obj.

Import into Fusion 360 and convert to BRep.

Took me less than 5 minutes.

I wonder if 3DSMax has a primitive similar to the Icosphere in Blender.

Yes it does, I know how to do that, but i can't have the form that I want with the pre-defined segments that the softwatre gives in GeoSphere models. Actually, this geodesic dome was made in Sketch Up by drawing the profile, and then rotating it by 30° of the center axis for each edge until close the complete 360°.

What I want to do is completely make the model in Fusion 360 to have everything under parametric sketches. I don't really know if an imported model from 3ds Max or SketchUp or whatever can be "parameterised" in Fusion 360. It's possible?

I finally made it. After a long process and a lot of commands, I got to the wanted model. Thanks anyway for your answers and for be the only one to actually noticed my request. Now I proceed to shell and extrude for final things.

Best Regards.
Cristián.
