topic Making modelled objects hollow in Fusion Design, Validate & Document Forum

Good day, I have modeled a 4 pontoons that will be used to construct 2 hulls. I want to make the pontoon hollow to achieve the required wall thickness. How do I do this in fusion 360. Also the pontoon is of LDPE material and I want to check if loading on it will support the weight. Is it possible to do this in fusion 360?

Hi,

i would use "Modify" -> "Shell", should be the right thing for you.

With "Simulaton" it is possible to check the performance of your pontoons.

Greetings

Raphi

Hi @waltertulin,

I understand you're interested in simulating your pontoons. Would it be possible for you to share some more details of the analysis?

What are the dimensions of the pontoons?

Are they inflatable pontoons or rigid?

What type of loading are you considering?

Are you looking at pontoon behavior on land versus sea? I could imagine the pontoons would be more prone to some adverse loading while being handled on land.

Best Regards,

Andrew

Edit: Oops, tagged the wrong person!

I just wanted to check in and see if you still wanted some assistance setting up your simulation. Please let me know if you have any questions about the simulation environment and I'll be glad to help out.

Best Regards,
