topic Creating a feature for a Revolve on a cylinder in Fusion Design, Validate & Document Forum

I've learned a lot since joining these forums, but was still finding it awkward to actually create the initial geometry that I wanted to revolve. I finally got my head on straight and found what I believe to be the easiest way to create a circular form to revolve around a cylinder. (This will also work for other shapes). I hope that this will be of some help to anyone that is also struggling to get some of the Fusion 360 concepts figured out. For sure, these forums are the first line in figuring things out than any other resource.

Thanks for the video it has helped. If you change the way you make the groove from a circle to a half moon, it will revolve the 360 deg.

Testing this now.

Ok, have done the 360° revolve and that cuts the groove as wanted. However, I am unable to generate the toolpath as I can't select the cylinder, only a single face. This results in a "cannot unwrap cyclic geometry" error. We're getting close, but still no cigar.

I also just realized that the toolpath I show in the screencast is not correct either. It does not go to depth. If I give it a depth, it does not follow the contour of the groove. More work here. I am a little lost in what I need to do to make this happen as modeled...
