topic Changing Contact type in Fusion Design, Validate & Document Forum

Is there a way to change the type of several contacts at once?

I used the Automatic Contacts manager to create around 100 contacts automatically. It defaults to Bonded with Symmetric penetration, but I want all of them to be Separation, with Symmetric penetration. Is there a quick way to change this?

As a follow up question, how do I access the Coefficient of Friction value associated with the Separation contact type and can I apply the same value of Coefficient of Friction simultaneously to all my 100 contacts as well?

Thank you in advance,

Craig

What type of simulation are you running?

If you are doing a linear or non-linear static stress analysis, have you tried using the contact manager?

I note that you can highlight multiple contact at one time and then change the contact type to modify multiple contact types simultaneously. See this screencast for more information.

I'm not aware of a way to edit all of the settings of the contacts. My understanding is it is best to start running the simulation without the friction applied to the contacts and then add them in.

However, I can check around and see if there is something I'm overlooking. I'll get back to you as soon as I can confirm the right answer here.

I hope this helps in the meantime.

Thanks,
