I'm not sure if it's all the windows updates, or the F360 updates, or my video card isnt working properly, but over the past months, it's been crashing more and more. How can I tell what the problem is so that I can find a solution?

I seem to be noticing the same thing. However I'm not using a dedicated video card, plus I'm using a 3dconnexion 3d mouse, which isn't supported on Fusion 360. Crashing seems to be more frequent if I have internet problems (my internet isn't the most stable). In fact, often I cannot open Fusion 360 at all if I have no internet.

I am on Windows 10, have a very low end processor, 8gb of ram and a GTX760 card on one machine with my laptop having a low end i5, 8gb ram and a geforce 840m card.

Fusion 360 never crashes, I can run offline and online without any issues at all and my internet provider is not the best, have you tried removing the program completely (folders as well) and reinstalling?

I was having some problems a few builds back, when I removed the program and reinstalled it the problems disappeared.

Hi @heyarn,

Unfortunately, you must be an Autodesk employee to have access to our crash error report database 😞

I took a look for you, and it looks like your crashes are related to your graphics card. I took a look at your system information that comes along with the report, and it appears that your graphics card drivers haven't been updated since January of this year! Could you update your graphics card via the manufacturer's website and let me know if that helps reduce your crashes?

@peter.jADKPP Unfortunately, I was unable to find any reports of your crashes in our database. Is Fusion 360 generating a Crash Error Report like the one shown below, or is it Windows producing an error message like "Autodesk Fusion 360 has stopped responding"?

If it is generating the Crash Error Reports, would you mind submitting them for review? If you are just receiving the "stopped responding" message, could you send me your application log files? We have created a great article, linked here, that describes how to go about collecting these files. These will allow me to take a deeper look at the processes that Fusion 360 is running through and allow me to hone in on where exactly it is running into problems.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!

Cheers,

@peter.jADKPP

Just to be clear:

3Dconnexion is supported in Fusion. Be sure you have the latest drivers from 3Dconnexion.

You'll see Fusion 360 is on their list of supported apps. You can program buttons directly against the Fusion profile they provide.

There is one problem we are working on, for Windows only, which is 3Dconnexion loses focus of the Fusion model window when you open a design. It's easy to get it back on track by just picking something like the workspace dropdown, or viewcube, or modeling commands.

So if none of this works for you please bear with us, but we should also investigate why it's not.

Thanks,

Oh? Sorry for some reason I thought it wasn't supported. When looking at
the list of supported programs I didn't see Fusion 360.
One thing that happens for sure is that my 3d Mouse Enterprise often
detects Fusion as Inventor. When it does that it will not move in 3d. It
then only zooms, and the buttons are mapped for Inventor, rather than
Fusion.
This zoom only characteristic also happens once in a while when Enterprise
does see it as Fusion 360. Often I can get it to revert to proper function
if I click the 3dConnexion CAD mouse on one of the browser
components/bodies. I've always attributed this to my lack of a supported
video card, but not sure by any means.
Thanks for the great support.
Peter

@peter.jADKPP

No problem, glad to help.

Regarding 3Dconnexion support: I do see Fusion on their supported hardware list. They have been super responsive and just awesome to work with as we iron out all these bugs with Fusion. You might notice they have released several updates to their drivers lately, some of which address bugs in Fusion.

For anyone interested:

http://www.3dconnexion.com/supported-software/software0.html

Regarding the focus on your enterprise spacemouse, you are seeing it correctly. The data panel is run by a separate process taken from Inventor. So 3Dconnexion thinks you have clicked into Inventor until you interact with the Fusion modeling window. Just try clicking the workspace dropdown list to regain focus on Fusion. At least you have that nice display to show you what is in focus at the moment. Really sorry we haven't tracked this bug down and removed it yet, but we're getting there.

Thanks!
