If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

Hello,

I created a box and made separator / dividers, instead of putting text on each, I have a 3 sided slot to slide the card in. I created 3 different sketches for the different layers.

I was watching something similar that was created in TinkerCAD, but it was done completely different. The main body and then 2 "cut" objects. Moved / centered into place, item complete.

I have tried different with the objects all in the same sketch but can't get with the cut objects. "Target not selected...", I did get similar with creating different sketches for each item.

Is there a "proper way" to do this ?I'd like to learn the correct way and not just "as long as it looks like I want it to"...

The propor approach of creating such a shape is to always analyis where to start from (top, side or front).

Sometimes you use alot of tools in order to create a body that could be created by a simple revolve for example, so analysing the object you're trying to create is always a good habit to have before commencing work.

As for this one, you can create both the body and the cut in the same sketch, which should look something like this :

Using this sketch, I was able to creatething body using 3 different extrusions (the main body, the cut for the card to go inside and the cut that shows the card) :

See attached the f3d file and check the timeline so that you get exactly what I'm talking about.

Perfect. I did not think I could just extrude lines to create the shapes. I was using rectangles. This was the answer I was looking for. Thank you so much.
