After not being able to repair the drive yesterday I shut the computer down.

This morning I get to work, turn the computer on. Click on the dmg file and it works!

For what ever reason I was able to reinstall Fusion360 just fine this morning.

Still not sure just what the problem was but I will try and research why I could not repair the drive, but I feel it had nothing to do with Fusion360.

This computer does still have the original drive in it yet so it's at least six years old.

I had been thinking about replacing the drive with a SSD so I may just do that.

Thanks,

I just returned to work after being gone for about a week. I had left fusion open on my Macbook well I was gone. It seem to be running slow today when I tried using it so I just closed Fusion. After I closed it I noticed a question mark over the Fusion360 Icon that I click on to start the program. Since closing Fusion360 it's like my computer can't find it anymore. I restarted my Macbook but that did not solve anything. What's the best why to get Fusion360 running again? Thanks,

Hi,

I can't really comment on why Fusion was deleted but that is the icon you'd see if the program was deleted w/o being uninstalled.

You should be able to reinstall the program. If not or you run into anything please let us know.

I find it really strange that it was working this morning even though it was slow and all I did was close Fusion and now it's gone.

When I search my computer for Fusion I see the remove fusion icon as shown in my attachment. Should I click on that first then reinstall?

I went ahead and clicked the uninstall icon. I checked the box that I was going to reinstall fusion.

The uninstall completed 100%.

Then I went here to download fusion360.

http://www.appstreaming.autodesk.com/install/app/73e72ada57b7480280f7a6f4a289729f/

The .dmg seems to download fine. The download page says it will auto launch once it's downloaded but it does not.

I click on the .dmg file and nothing happens for me.

Not sure what to do at this point, thanks!

Hi,

The session resides in memory until Fusion is closed even if the program files on disk are removed.

The Fusion Uninstall icon in the bitmap is only installed with the version from www.autodesk.com. You should be able to either run the Fusion 360 Client Downloader already in your Downloads folder, or re-download it from here to install that version.

To run the DMG you need to double-click or right-click and choose Open. This brings up a Finder screen called Autodesk Client Downloader. In this window you double-click the "Right-click > Open to Install.app icon to begin the install process.

If you're still unable to install please send me the file autodesk.webdeploy.streamer.log from the /users/username/library/logs folder.

I'm just not having any luck reinstalling Fusion360.

"To run the DMG you need to double-click or right-click and choose Open. This brings up a Finder screen called Autodesk Client Downloader."

When I double click or right click and choose Open nothing more happens. I never see the Autodesk Client Downloader.

To make things even better I cant find, autodesk.webdeploy.streamer.log either. I looked in /users/username/library/logs and used the search in Finder, but there seems to be nothing there.

If it makes any difference I attached my macbook specs.

Thanks,

Hi,

Sorry to hear of the trouble.

When you double-click the DMG do you see a message from Apple about not able to identify the developer?

If so, OSX is blocking us. To resolve this go into Apple menu > System Preferences > Privacy & Security.

On the General tab you'll see the "Allow apps downloaded from:" section. See if it lists the Fusion installer and grant it access to install.

If you still have trouble and prefer, feel free to send me a private message with your contact info and I'll dial you direct.

Hi,

I'd suggest you do some research on the issue with regards to not being able to repair the drive.

You should be able to reformat it but that will require you to reinstall everything.

If the system is running, it could be that just the area of the disk where Fusion was installed is damaged. Instead of deleting everything, try renaming the folders and run the installer. If it is an issue of Fusion being installed there, then this should move it to a new area. Then once installed, you can go back and delete those folders, etc.

Other than that, I'd have to point you to the Apple folks.

Regards,

After not being able to repair the drive yesterday I shut the computer down.

This morning I get to work, turn the computer on. Click on the dmg file and it works!

For what ever reason I was able to reinstall Fusion360 just fine this morning.

Still not sure just what the problem was but I will try and research why I could not repair the drive, but I feel it had nothing to do with Fusion360.

This computer does still have the original drive in it yet so it's at least six years old.

I had been thinking about replacing the drive with a SSD so I may just do that.

Thanks,

Hi,

Sounds like there's a possibility you had some pending updates waiting to be installed? Possibly when you last shut down and then restarted they were installed?

Glad to hear it's working.

Regards,
