Hi

 I'm new to the site and new to cad. I can draft professional 3D objects on paper but I'm having problems learning the program. I've got a game console idea that needs a good case and I thought I bedding the electronics inside a Super Nintendo controller would be awesome. I found stl files for a controller but it needs openings for the screen and a few other places for ports but I can't figure out how to do so. And how can I enlarge or shrink current openings. I've been using the smart scale but it only works with the main dimensions. I've also tried looking at all the features but can't figure out a lot. Yes I've been watching videos but I can't find a tutorial for what i need to do.

Can some one help me?

@Anonymous wrote:

... idea that needs a good case.... I found stl files

I would forget stl files if you want good geometry.

Stl is coarsely faceted triangular planar faces - not smooth geometry.

I recommend that you first go through all of the basic tutorials that you can find and then attempt to model the case yourself rather than attempt to use someone else's stl file.

When you run into trouble - ask questions and someone will show you the easy way over the hurdles. Forget stl.
