I have a very complex assembly and when I'm editing a component and all the other components change to transparent it is really hurting my performance. I know I can hide other components but I need to see them to reference the features they have.

Is there a way to turn off component transparency mode when not the active component?

Thanks

Hello,

Just to confirm when you activate a single component, the rest of your components go transparent, and this is when you see the performance hit? Does this mean that you have better performance when you don't have a single component active?

While I am not aware of a way to disable the component transparency, is the isolate function an option for you?

If you were to activate a single component, then isolate that component you should be able to turn the visibility of the other components that are important to you back on.

Cheers,

Yes - when the non active components go transparent is when I see a performance hit.

When the top level is active (all components have Visual Style of Shaded with Visible Edges) my performance is great. I was just wondering if there was an option to disable 'Show Non Active Components as Transparent

Thanks

Well I found a quick fix for me - dragging the components I don't want transparent to be children of the component I'm editing works.

🙂

Hi!

I have met a similar performance issue with Fusion graphics when activating a single component. I have Nvidia Quadro K4000 graphics card. I know that the Quadro series graphics card isn't the best choice for Fusion.

I have also updated latest drivers for my graphics card. And I have disappled all efects. Here is my settings:

[GPU Information]
GPU Device: NVIDIA Quadro K4000
GPU RAM: 3072 MB
GPU Driver API: DirectX 11.0
GPU Driver Version: w\S.ystem32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nv_dispwi.inf_amd64_2af05e75955980a6\nvldumdx.dll,C:\Windows\System32\DriverStor:23.21.13.9133
GPU Driver Date: Unknown

[Graphics Effects Settings]
Anti Aliasing: Off
Ambient Occlusion: Off
Object Shadow: Off
Ground Shadow: Off
Ground Reflection: Off
Selection Display Style: Normal
Transparency Effect: Better Performance

[Limit effects to optimize performance]
Off

Now my question is, is it impossible to get proper graphics performance with Quadro series graphics card? Seems that the tranparency is the "achilles heel" with Quadro. And the use of 3DConnexion Space Mouse makes the graphics performance even worse when there is unactivated components on the screen... There isn't any graphics problems, when the whole construction is activated.

-Juha
