Hi @Anonymous,

I guess it depends on what file format the company quoting you needs! Are you referring to the quote options under the Make menu within Fusion? Normally, 3d printed models need STL files, which if you click the 3D print button in the Make menu, you can generate it this way. Alternatively, you can also right-click an individual body within the model and select Save as STL if you do not want the entire model to be sent.

If the company needs a CAD file format, again, it will depend on what they want. If they need a generic file format such as a STEP or IGES file, if you go to the File menu and select Export you should have all of these options available, including a Fusion file format.

My personal favorite however, is to use the Share Public Link option, also found in the File menu under Share. This generates a URL that you can send to people (make sure you enable the download option when you go to get the link), that will redirect people to A360 where they can view the model via a web browser and export to whatever setting they need!

This article here should have all the steps!

Let me know if you have any questions,

obviously in order to get a quote for a 3D print they need to look at my part. it is on the cloud, I guess. how do I point them to it, or export it, or whatever I need to do?

thank you. I think that is all i'll need. funny to see IGES mentioned. my group at McAuto worked with the IGES standards when it was being defined, back in the 80's. personally I was working with the competing ANSI stds, which lost the battle, despite being better [like Beta vs VHS]. all of life is political. 😞
