How to create a surface intersection?

Hi,

I'm trying to project a curve to a revolved surface to create a guide line for lofting, I'm having trouble trying to get it to work how I want (see screenshot).

I'm trying to create a loft that follows a conical curve. Usually in inventor I'd create two planes a the use the 3D intersection curve to create my guide line for lofting.

I have attached an image which displays the backslat component I'm trying to build in it's made form.

Can anyone help?

You can use "Split body" feature to get a "projection" of your curve on the surface. And then use resulted edge as the path. Like this:
