So I have a frame layout (or I will have soon) of a model destroyer. Somehow I need to draw the curves of the hull skin to follow the frames but curve in between them. So I am looking for a method to get good curves. Something like the "create form" function but get it to touch the frames. is there a way to to do this? or some other method?

you should try to avoid designing tthe geometry it the methods th boat is being built physically. Most folks I've seen here on the forum use way too many profiles when lofting a boat/ ship.

Gooday Thing,

All depends on the final output you want...

I have done aircraft, seaplanes but not boats. There is a screecast for a scultped Coal Bunker ship, under "Most Helpful" section of the library.

I think the scuplt area would give cleanest result, I haven't got the experience with tweaking in the right place for the right result with sculpt.

Loft in Patch or solid, can be finicky, but its what I use.

what trippy said, ship models I have seen in here have a lot of detail frames that creates overheads that Fusion dislikes.

Can I siggest that you do half and mirror, I prefer to thicken surfaces, for a skin, as solid shells are not reliable.

Geometry for profiles and Rails MUST intersect with each other,

use Project Intersect exclusively on these intersections. (Should be said in capitals and bold)

Can give more detail by PM

No worrie ,Pete,

Thing, take a look in that link I posted, there will be a ton of videos short to the point on Lofts, when you search there.

The link you mentioned, would not give you a fighting chance, as he has not created any Rails to guide the shape, due to the complications around these maritime shapes.

even search in this Forum will find models already done with Lofts.
