Installed fonts show up just fine in the text tool font dropdown menu in the sketch environment. But what gets put into the sketch is some generic font and not the one I've selected. This problem is specific to Fusion 360, as it work fine in every other program. I've had this same issue with every font I've installed (which is several fonts). I searched the forums and couldn't find anyone talking about this specific issue, so I started this thread. I've given you every bit of relevant info I can think of below, but let me know if you need something else. Please help.

fonts are ttf

fonts are not symbolic

macOS Sierra Version 10.12.3 (latest)

Fusion 360 2.0.2862 (latest)

Example of issue

Wrong font being displayed in Fusion 360

Correct font being displayed in TextEdit

Fonts I've had issues with (I've got a feeling I'll have this same issue with the next font I try and that the issue is not specific to the fonts below...)

Aero Matics Stencil

Gunplay

Lintsec

MONOGRAMOS

Stencilia-A

Hi @jeff_r_latham,

We had a similar report yesterday. If you are on Windows this workaround may help

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/design-validate-document/can-t-add-ttf-font/m-p/6917516#M101342

Mac seems to be a bigger problem the team is investigating.

Are these True Type fonts?

Thanks

Yes. Every font I've tried is a true type font (ttf). Thanks for looking into this.

I'm also having this problem. I'm on OSX 10.11.6 though. I really can't narrow down the problem to just being TTF, TTC, or OTF fonts. At first I thought it was just fonts that use symbols or non-western character sets. Then I discovered a few western character fonts that were displaying the same generic character set instead of the actual font. Any updates on what the problem is?

For now, the only work around that I know of is to type the font in a
vector graphics program (like inkscape or illustrator), make sure the text
is converted to curves, and then export as an svg or dxf. Then you can
import that file into fusion and use it to do whatever you need.

FOR MAC: I found. THE SOLUTION! The .ttf file has to be saved to a specific location inside your computers files. If you just save it to the FontBook it will not work. Sure it will appear in Fusion but the font itself has will be generic. What you have to do instead is save it to the location fusion looks for. Heres the location. HD/Library/Fonts. Look at the picture below. Mac saves fonts in different locations, you just got to add it to the correct one. Once you save it to the correct location, Reboot Fusion and hopefully the font will work. Has worked with me so far after hours of researching.
