Hi @mtr177,

Both the Nonlinear Static Stress, and the Quasi-static Event Simulation study types can handle large deformations using a nonlinear material.

In a NLSS study, the Prescribed Displacement structural constraint can simulate the 30mm movement.

In a Quasi-static study, the Prescribed Translation constraint can simulate the movement.

Your study setup is very similar to the copper billet crushing tutorial for Quasi-static. It uses symmetry to study 1/4 of the model, which will aid in both constraining the model and reducing the solve time.

Hello,

I have been stuck on a project for quite some time. I am to conduct a compression test on a hexagonal structure using fusion 360. It is a structure made using nylon and to be modelled as Plastic (Material Model: Isotropic Behavior: Non Linear Type: Elasto-plastic(BiLinear). The material model is chosen based on Ulitmaker Nylon 3D printing Filament.

The height of the structure is 60.414mm and a displacement of 30mm needs to be applied and the values are to be obtained. The aim of the fusion simulation is to replicate mechanical testing. My doubt lies in how to go about it. Which study needs to be chosen and what are the necessary steps needed to ensure that the simulation works.
