I have a bunch of drawings that were each created as separate drawings, each with 1 sheet. I did not know that creating multiple Sheets in a Drawing was a possibility at the time and subsequently created many separate, 1 sheet drawings that took quite a bit of time because of all the measurements and annotations.

All the drawings are related to and reference the same Design within the same Project.

Is there a method or process that allows me to consolidate all the individual drawings into a single Drawing with multiple Sheets?

Similar to how a PDF editor or PDF print driver can append a page, document, or sheet to an existing PDF to create a single growing chain.

Maybe something like a Drawing merge function?

Or even a way to select everything in a Drawing Sheet like [Ctrl + a] and then Copy -> Paste into another Drawing?

Many thanks

Hi claybuddy,

Multi-sheet functionality was only recently added in the March 1 update, so you probably didn't miss it, it just wasn't available yet. Currently the merging of individual drawings into a multi-sheet drawing is not possible, but we understand the request for this and are looking into this.

Thanks,
Chris

Thank you. I did all the drawings in Jan 2017. Makes me feel better at least even though there's no solution yet.

Recently, working on another Drawing set I thought, "I made a big mistake creating all separate Drawings for that other Plan. How I could I have missed the create new sheet function? It's right there at the bottom of the Drawing."

Has there been any change on this topic? We have several drawings that are each one sheet - even if we cannot combine them into one file, it would be great if we could still export them into one PDF.

Bumping with similar problem.

I know you can add drawings to main file ( but it must be open as on photo), unfortunately I was creating new files, and I noticed it when it was already too late.

I can see you can add new empty sheets to existing drawing, but I don't understand why you cannot copy anything across tabs with drawings. Is there any way to add to new sheet, existing drawing? Or add sheet, as existing drawing?

Cheers,

Hi @filipmatyja ,

Unfortunately, we don't yet support copying across sheets or duplicating sheets. This is an item on our long-term roadmap though. If we were to support this, would you expect everything on a given sheet to copy to a new sheet, or just some of the geometry (i.e. views, dimensions, text, etc.)?

Hello Timera,

Thank you for taking interest in my case. I'm glad to hear that you have in plans to work on such feature. I'm sure it will be great addition to the already great software.

Regarding amount of things to be copied. I believe that the most of the time users would like to copy the whole sheet. To add common item to the project that has to be in another documentation or is part found in few different machines.

To copy something partly can be handy as well, like when you want to refer to something from other drawing.

Whatever there will be, you can be sure that Fusion users will find a creative way to use the tool in the way we can not even imagine. So it's always better to have extra tools, as all they do are opening new ways to use the software.

Cheers and have fun with development,

Was looking for this as well. Happy to see it's something youre considering, and thought I'd my $.02.

TLDR/Summary:

My vote would be for a simpler cut copy paste function that would allow you to copy whole pages within the same document, released sooner. vs a more comprehensive function that would allow copying between documents or pieces of a page, released later.

In terms of functionality, being able to move whole pages from one drawing to another or copying them within a drawing would be most important.

UI for this could be something like Nitro Pro's for moving pages from one PDF to another - you can see the list of pages in one file, select the ones you want to cut/copy, and paste them into another file (i.e. drawing in this case). So the cut copy paste functionality would be on the area that shows thumbnails of all the pages in the drawing.

Being able to cut/copy/paste whole pages of drawings would be most useful (at least to me), specifically in two instances:

1. You have a component, you've placed dimensions/annotations that fill the page, and have some other aspect that you need to describe, you could copy the drawing (or page would work too) and annotate the new page with the other layer of information.

2. As a way of replicating a page. You have a drawing with lots of body/components, and you're only showing 1 component. It would be great to not have to start each page with the entire model and whittle it down to the component you want to show, since this is laborious and also CPU intensive/a slow process (esp. on my laptop). So the use case here is that you have a model with 100 components, and 100 bodies, and you need to do drawings of each. component, and to annotate you need to show some mix of bodies with the subject component. Currently you need to start a new page with a full model, and remove pieces until you get the mix you need. If you could do this once and then copy and modify that page, it would be a big time saver. More of a nice to have than a need to have, but would address an issue that would have a welcome impact on workflow.

There are also some instances where you want to move pages from one drawing to another (e.g. to reorganize); probably pretty rare, but you sure notice the lack of the functionality when you need it.

To keep it simple, I think virtually all use cases for this functionality would be 90% served by a simple cut/copy/paste command, at the page level (i.e. in the ribbon at the bottom of the page). Trying to do this for parts of a page (e.g. selected items/pieces of a single page) seems like it introduces a bunch of complexity and only adds a little extra utility. It's already pretty complicated to make paste to a different drawing possible, as there have to be a lot of commonalities between the two drawings for it to work.

Creating drawings is definitely my least favorite part of the design process, so anything that reduces time/repetition on this front would be much appreciated. Thanks again for all your work on this awesome application.

For me, it is about generating a single PDF or resulting drawing file that supports multiple drawings from different design parts. I do models that are assemblies referencing other model parts, do their individual drawings, then want to pull all the drawings into a single PDF. Perhaps there are other ways to do this. I'm new to Fusion myself.

Not the built in F360 solution you're probably after but I use a free program called PDFsam (Just google it) to merge several PDFs together. Most of my projects have hundreds of parts and this is the best solution I've come across. It's better than having to build a whole separate 'combined assembly' just to throw designs on multi-paged PDFs.

I can't believe there is still nothing to merge two files into one with multiple sheets.

I'm not an expert in software development, but Fusion 360 seems so complex yet the development team hasn't worked out a simple button to do this.

2024 is almost gone, and still nothing from the devs... Autodesk is not def worth it. More than 7 years and still not able to implement a simple function. Bravo!

Cracked into 2025 and still no mention of copying sheets from one drawing to another. Also don't try to copy a view as that will be a straight crash! Is there any development requests that someone knows of we could all go vote up?
