Hi,

I come from Alibre/Geomagic Design, and know Lofting well, however I'm totally overlooking something when it comes to F360 Lofting. Attached is a picture. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong here? I also tried to supply a rail on the edge as well, but in this one it is via the center.

Thanks!

Erik

Here it is. Was challenging to get it to export, normally I just go to Export and select Archive, but that option was missing, so had to go online to create a link to download from. Is that a bug in the latest release? Anyway, thanks for taking the time to look at it.

-Erik

Not a bug, you have a linked file. That's why you had to do a .f3z. You can only export .f3d files from Fusion if there are no linked files in your design.

Hi Phil,

Thanks for responding. I intended on getting a .f3d when exporting from Fusion, but what I was saying is I have no option to select an archive (I provided a link to a video showing this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hizn3Y8vo98). I have easily done this many times in the past. My mistake in incorrectly identifying the file I uploaded that is a .f3z. After viewing the video I provided, can you tell me if that is a bug, or do I not have some box checked in preferences, or something like that I'm over looking?

Thanks, and I am happy there are people that view these forms and help 🙂

-Erik

That's what I was pointing out. If you have a linked file in your design then Fusion doesn't give you the option to save an archive file (.f3d)

Your only options are to either:

A) break the link on the linked component or

B) open your design in A360 and save out a .f3z file

Thanks Phil! I never experienced any of my projects locking before. It must have happened after I brought in a model from GrabCad to reference. Once unlinking it was once again easy to export the .f3d file. 🙂

Do I need to post my .f3d file in addition to the previous file I supplied?

Thanks again!

-Erik

I didn't get an answer, but did my own work around and I'd mention it here in case someone else has this problem and needs answers.

This will not loft this way in solid modeling, I guess it intersects itself. It will loft in sculpt mode, however if you're lofting off a solid object it may pull away from the edges. I choose to extrude up to the full height, then choose to fillet. Like lofting in sculpt mode, it may not be the same as lofting, but close enough.

Hope this helps.
