Imported component visiblity/read only (bug?)

On importing a component, I attempted to change the visibility of a body so as to allow the selection of a construction point for locating the import using point-to-point move- however, the following hover-over text appears when attempting to select the body:

"Visibility can not be changed because it's read-only the referenced document."

Any insight into why visibility is beyond control will be appreciated.

I value the utility of the link. Still, I appreciate having break in my pocket as an option- thanks. 'Suppose I might change the visibility in the parent document, then update the second space- a maddening bit of tedium if needs be performed with any frequency. FYI: the construction point in the import may be selected from the browser menu. A couple work-arounds. It would be nifty were this non-design-altering state capacity available.

Linked composers certainly have use cases, but when you are stating a design they can get quite in the way.

I prepared a handout for the AU class I co-hosted. It has a section on linked components, when to use them and when not.
