Dimensions on angled lines in drawing

I am having trouble with a dimensions of an angled slot. I am trying to get the distance between two angled lines and the distance from the slot edge and the center of a semi-circle. The dimensions snap to the end point of the lines and are not parallel with the angled lines. Has anyone found a work around or any suggestions. Any help would be much appreciated. Attached are some photos of what I am having issues with.

There are a few reasons why fusion becomes uncooperative, knowing exactly what you're doing inside of fusion would be most helpful..

You probably have it figured out by now, but right clicking when the dimension tool is active will open a context menu where you can choose the type of dimension desired.
