Download of a project doesn't work. What I said you need to do is navigate to the design (top level assembly file or the 2d drawing) with the assembly or drawing in the viewer click download top right of the screen and select Fusion Archive.

I guess my title says it all!

I am quite new to Fusion 360, and sadly my last CAD experience was around the time when ACAD12 was still a "thing"! This probably explains why I am stuck where I am now...

I wasn't paying attention and started a new project in the "Demo" environment. I only realised this once I was very far down the line, and now find that I can for instance not share my model with other (the area to enter an e-mail address and invite is greyed out in the Demo environment). I tried to rectify things by simply creating a new project under "Owned by Me" and moving/copying items across, but due to the high prevalence of inter component references in my design, this is not working as well as anticipated, and many items cannot be either moved or copied.

Is there a simple way out of this mess, or should I get ready to redraw a lot of designs?

If you use the online dashboard you can download the top level assembly design and it will bring all the external linked files with it. If you have a drawing created from the top level assembly you should download that instead as it will bring all files with it.

The online desktop is here.https://myhub.autodesk360.com/g/all_projects/active

A bit more info. When you download an assembly you will get an FZ3 file extension, these files need to be uploaded to a project using the data panel in Fusion.

So the procedure is.

1. Request a fusion archive using the online dashboard.

2. You will be emailed a link to download the FZ3 file.

3. Download to your computer.

4. Create a project in Fusion's data panel and open.

5. Click Upload and select the file from your computer.

Hi Mark,

Thanks a stack again, but I'm afraid it doesn't work as intended, at least
not in the Demo environment! I easily enough elect to download the project
using the download icon next to the project. It then goes on to tell me
that it is compressing my files, after which a .zip download ensues without
me having the of choosing the file type - no mention of an e-mail
throughout. Once the .zip has downloaded and I extract it, it presents me
with a directory structure of my project, but with all the folders empty.

Warm regards,

Willem

Jumping in on this thread though it's several years back, I wanted to know if there is not a much easier way since apparently I have many designs that were created in the Demo Project and it will be more than 100 downloads to do this. I tried putting everything in one folder with sub-folders, but it did not work.
