Wood Wave Wall

Hello,

I'm strugling to understand how to design a " wood wave wall" - please check wood wall 01.png. It's just as a reference.

I did some trials and designed some ideas in Fusion 360 but I'm not pleased with the results. I manage to obtain something close to what I wish to get in the end - wood wall 02.png

I use sculpt mode to obtain this sample but I must say that I was lucky because I'm not capable to redesign this again because I don't know how to get the "wave shape".

If you want to help me please teach me how to design this "wave shape". Some examples, screencasts or videos are more than welcome.

Using the actual wall as example, you can make sketches, for say, every 5th piece,

sketch the shape, as a side profile, curvy line / Splines are best for this.

Patch > Loft from first to last, for the construction surface, that can be updated by editing the profiles.

If these boards are going to be cut you should start with surfaces, instead of boards with thickness.

I am using a T-Spline in this screencast to create the waves I am after, lofting would also work.

Hi,

I just saw your question.

That would have to go with Slicer for Fusion was my idea.

I modeled waves in Fusion and exported the body to Sclicer.

There are only a few operations necessary and the boards are ready.

Thank you so much, Peter. I've been struggling with this for weeks. Your way is so much easier than how I've been doing it. I've been splitting the T-spline surface multiple times with a plane, projecting each curve onto a board's face, extruding it and splitting the body. So much to learn...
