That's the first step....to project the outline. Now I want to move all those projected curves parallel along the surface a distance. For example 5mm. The important part is that the 5 mm is the distance measured along the curvature of the surface.

Geodesic curves on a surface?

I am coming to fusion 360 from CATIA and I am trying to figure out how to do geodesic curves on a surface in Fusion 360.

I have a rectagular patch of a cylinder. I want to put boundary curves on the 4 edges and then offset them 5mm parallel along the surface, trim them, and then put fillets on the corners. I then want to use those curves to cut out the interior of the surface.

I can do all this in CATIA in about 3 minutes. I have everything else working in Fusion 360 but this last operation. I'm hoping after all the modeling that I am not stuck on this last step.

Robert

You could not by any chance create a screenshot of what you have in Catia ?

Not sure if this would help. Are you trying to do something like this - if so the following command might help
