Ahhh I see what's happening! You don't have your timeline turned on. If you Capture Design History, you should be able to re-define sketch planes. This seems like strange behavior so I'll ask a colleague if this is an intentional workflow or not.

I need to move a sketch from the face of a 3D body to another plane to draw on it. I found instructions online on how to use the "Redefine Sketch Plane" option under the browser sketch right-click but I don't have an option for "redefine sketch plane" listed.

Hey @alex.olshove,

You should be able to right click either the sketch in the browser tree on the left, or the sketch feature in the timeline on the bottom to bring up a menu that has the "Redefine sketch plane" option in it. You cannot do this as you're editing the sketch though, so make sure you finish the sketch, and then right click it.

Hopefully that works!

I have seen the Redefine Sketch Plane in a situation where I had a lost reference and I successfully used the feature to clear up the error. Now I want to use the feature to actually change the sketch plane, but it doesn't show up. I am not editing a sketch and I have the timeline turned on, and it still doesn't show up. What am I missing?

I have another component where the feature does show up, but not on the component where I need it. The one difference is that the component that I want to change the sketch plane has a copied component in the design. Is that why the feature doesn't show up?

I'm having the same issue. Is there a resolution to this? I have a dxf file that I uploaded to my workspace. When I open the file, the sketch is in the wrong plane. I am new to Fusion 360, and haven't found a way to get this sketch moved to the correct construction plane.
