I've taken a number of sections from an imported mesh using sketch > mesh > create mesh section.

Since you cannot work within fusion without having solid bodies (and I don't want to create a solid from this - I only want drawings of these sections) I tried to export them as DXF from the browser drop down.

But all DXF files created this way turn out to be about 2kb and completely void of any information (nothing is found using zoom extents). If I draw a random polyline elsewhere and export that sketch it works fine.

Am I doing something wrong here?

edit- I should mention, I am exporting from latest fusion and using 2018 autocad to open these DXFs.

No good news,

You need to edit those mesh section sketches and put real data in there,

The whole section will have to be traced with fitted lines circles, arcs and splines to get Fusion articles, that will be selected and visible.

I do it now and then, but is cluncky to get it to work. Be careful of the snap points when tracing, I find you have to zoom right in, to snap to the right vertex.

Not much else you can do in Fusion from a mesh body.

Thanks for the reply. I was fearing that, re Meshes, as my searching wasn't turning up too much.

Is there a concise way to describe how I might convert them to solid bodies? I can create watertight or closed meshes from the base model I have cut up into components but am not sure where to go from there.

This video at this time (he's working with an STL ((and on MAC vs PC)) as opposed to my obj but I understand them to be very similar?): https://youtu.be/rhk9l_OlPR4?t=140 'exports' the triangle based mesh using tools and a UI that look <STRIKE>nothing like the fusion I'm seeing</STRIKE>.

edit: It's memento, another product. Being uploaded by the fusion account (and me not watching an extra 15 seconds out of impatience) confused me.
