Wanted to follow up with you. I specifically have one design that I had no problem with last time I generated GCode with it, but upon opening it, all the CAM setups look perfect but the operations save and then give a message failed to generate. There were 42 versions. I wanted to look back but I noticed that one Macbook shows 2 versions in the history,, another of MacBooks shows 10 versions, and another shows the all. My PC shows them all and all show on the Web.

So, I though this would be a good tie to try to reset the Data Panel. However, after making the Library folder unhidden, I drilled down to use/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360/ but there is no <user specific ID> folder beyond that and no sign of the Cache file. So, ZI was unable to try it. So, unless i'm tripping up somehow, the reset instructions are not valid anymore. I know there have been some updates to the way the Data Panel works this year so maybe we need new instructions.

Thanks for trying to help me.

Design RENAME - loses version history

I maintained a Design with a 364 version history.

This was a totally developed design with full CAM production manufacturing.

Since this project was developed starting before what became known as Rule Number 1 in reference to components, I wanted to move forward with converting every body and associated Sketches, etc. into individual components.

I Saved the design as a new name. ( I did mange to eventually make the transition although Fusion was unable to unravel some of the linkages it made that I didn't have access to and had to redo a few components from new Sketches. This of course, wreaked havoc with CAM setup as well. and that process took a couple hundred additional version history entries for the new design.)

Not wanting to confuse designs, i decided to rename the first Design with the 364 version history. I didn't think anything of it as I received no warning errors or any indication that I was going to lose the first 363 versions of that design, but that is what appears to have happened as the version history only lists one design for the renamed design. I did not realize this had happened until several weeks later when I wanted to look back into the first design history to see how I had done something at one time.

I attempted to test this with a Design that I just threw a couple of saves into. Upon renaming, both versions were preserved so my assumption is that there is a threshold at which the renaming facility just decides, screw it.

Sometimes the data panel in fusion doesn't list all version. Try the online dashboard and see if it lists all your versions.

Thanks Mark, yes I see the version history on the Web detail version. Not sure about trying the Manual Data Panel Reset since it appears to be a local file related approach and I have 4 computers that are not showing the versions in that one particular design. I suppose they might be synced on that file and/or need to do it on all machines. Not ready to risk that right now.
