I am trying to create a cantilever snap, and the base is on a curve using this as my model:

I created a sketch on the base, projected a construction plane above it, and created a sketch on top that was 1/2 the thickness on the construction plane. I then lofted the 2 sketches. It looks like it is what I need. I also need Fillets at the bottom to help with the stress at the point where the snap connects to the base. Every time I try to create a fillet at the base, it will only let me make the curve go in.

After reading some of the recommended posts, I combined the clip to the base. I was then able to make the correct fillet. But, when I then tried to create a circular pattern of 15 around the base axis, it wouldn't let me select the fillets as part of what was getting the pattern applied. When I tried to attach the fillets to the pattern clips, it went all kinds of crazy. I also read posts where some were diagnosing the problems with fillets by applying appearances to the parts and looking for gaps, but that looks OK. I am sure it is something that I am doing incorrectly, can someone point me in the right direction?

Hi,

For whatever reason, fusion sometimes cannot calculate what you need when joining things together. I found a useful

way of creating difficult parts such as this by NOT joining them but creating them as a separate body. Turn off the

visibility of the base; create a circular pattern in space using the body you want; Then do a combine operation after

turning the base back on. This way fusion does not calculate the joins to the base but just makes copies of the body

and places it in the pattern. The combine simply joins them up without changing anything. You will end up with the

same result, you have just achieved it differently.

Cheers

Andrew

Hi,

1. combine "Base" with "Cantiliver Snap Hooks" where "Base" is the target body.

This makes "C-Snap Hook" part of the "Base" component
2. create fillets
3. create circular pattern using object type "Faces"
