@Anonymous @SaeedHamza, we have one feature working in progress which is to make 2d sketch include sketch points visible in drawing views (internally tracked by FDWG-7395). With this feature, we could project the origin point in 2d sketch, and then get it show up in drawing views, and then able to add dimension on it.

This feature won't directly include origin geometries (working point / working axis), but could project them into sketch first, and drawing view could show them (2d sketch points & geometries). Please raise any concern or more details of your requirements. Thanks!

Dear Community,

When creating dimensions on a model, it would be very useful if we could mesure from the model origins.

I found no option to make them visible in drawings. I tried to find another way by creating a surface on an origin plane and bring that to the drawing enviromnent, but there came this message:

I think this is a very basic option.

I could do a workaround by slpitting some faces, so the place where the face is splitted becomes visible by a line in the drawing, but that's only a half solution here.

Am I missing something or there's no way to make the origins visible in drawings???

Thanks for any help in advance,

Zoltan

Hi,

First, there isn't a command to show the origin of the body in the drawing environment yet, so I recommend you add it to the idea station

Second, your work around is exactly what I thought of, but yours was wrong when you decided to chose the face as your origin, because you see faces don't appear in the drawing environment ...

an easy workaround for it is to thicken the faces by a really small tiny value so that Fusion counts them as actual bodies and make them appear in the drawing environment

Regards

Saeed

Yep, I thought adding a tiny extrusion to the origo, but that seemed a bit unprofessional 🙂 I wanted to know if there's any built in option for origin visibility.

I put this in the Ideas Station then.

Thanks for your help!

Zoltan

@Anonymous, Yes, you're right, it will be public when this feature is ready. And it enables including 2d sketch (that has same direction with projected body face) in drawing views.
