Is there any way that I can convert a mesh body to a solid body using a personal use license? I know that I can get the paid for version but I only use Fusion to make things that I give to charity.

Not all meshes are created equally, so @g-andresen method may, or may not work.

In any case it is often the least preferred method.

If you can share the mesh file or even a screenshot, we can provide much better feedback.

Hi, thanks for replying. What I am trying to do is alter the head by putting in two circular eye sockets 12mm Dia and 1mm deep so I can then stick in two eyes. If I stick them straight on to the printed model it's harder to get them exactly right. When I convert the mesh to solid I still have all the triangles which is harder to design on to. I believe that the paid for version there is a way to make it one solid object by selecting prismatic but for that it tells me that I have to have the paid for version.

If I can't do what I want using Fusion is there any other software that I can use?

That would indeed be the wrong workflow

@Pylonbob wrote:

That would also be the wrong workflow.

What I would do is to create two spheres with the solid modeling tools in Fusion.

Then I'd change to the mesh tab and tesselate the two spheres. Still in the Mesh tab I'd then combine/cut the tesselated spheres with the imported mesh.

Done!

Hi, I tried your suggestion but couldn't get it to work, I still had mesh triangles and not a solid surface to work on so I used the hole command on a point on the surface and that allowed me to roughly cut in the size and depth that I wanted.

Hi, thanks for replying, I copied your video to the letter and the attached file is what I ended up with. Although the end result is good it's not really what I wanted. What I am trying to achieve is two eye holes, the one that is there on the model I have sent and one to the right. they need to be 12.05mm in diameter and 0.5mm deep so that I can glue two 3d printed eyes in to the holes. When I slice the head I have a concave hole that really if possible needs to be a flat recess. As I said before the hole command allows me to roughly do that but as the model face is not flat some parts of the recess end up slightly deeper than others. Regards, Bob.

The purpose of my video was NOT to do exactly what you need but to convey the concept of how YOU can complete YOUR work. I find your explanations somewhat ambiguous. Please create a pencil/paper sketch of how a cross-section of that recessed glued-in eye in the main body would look like. Snap a picture of it and embed it into a post (you can drag an image from a folder right into a post).
Then I can show you how It can be modeled.

The only option in the free subscription is the Faceted" version:

Depending on the mesh, however that might not result in what you want, or might not work at all . Not all meshes are created equally.
