Can not create subcomponents

As show in the picture, I have some components related to a tire/motor assembly. I want to create a group to hold all of these components together so when I copy this to make other tire/motor components, I don't have to do the joints all over again.

I have created sub components before on my design but with these selected components, I can not create a sub component.

Any solutions please?

@Beyondforce thank you for the video!

Unfortunately I can drag an drop the selected components in the screen shot to a new component, I tired every on of those selected components and non of them combines.

I can copy them one by one inside a new component, but that just puts the instance of the components, not the original ones that are already connected with joints together.

@Anonymous try doing a restart of fusion what Ben shows should work even with linked components.

Okay, you have two options:

1. Re-create your model and this time, NO errors and NO Warnings in the Time Line. It can effect Fusion's performance and the sub component you are trying to create. Moreover, you much work on your Workflow as well (watch my videos and Fusion 360's videos)!

2. Direct Modeling - It's good if you don't want to work with the Time Line, but of course you will have to learn how to work with that. Unfortunately, I can't help you with that, since I don't have much experience with Direct Modeling.

I tried but noting changes. What @Beyondforce shows in his video works perfectly fine when I make a new design. It could be due to the errors as he mentioned that are in my timeline.

But @Beyondforce how do you know at which point of the timeline that I have an error?

When an icon's background change to Yellow = Warning, Red = Error 😉

How can he NOT know ?

Every time you create one of these warnings and error messages the user interface pops up a warning/error message before it cools the timeline icons. Then it also puts a re or yellow warning triangle into the lower right corner.

@TrippyLighting I am aware of the errors when they first pop up. But I didn't know how to track them on the timeline. Still learning this program.

The errors are usually because I deleted some sketch. But it is weird that if these errors are the reason that I can not drag and drop components, why isn't the software giving a warning.

I hope someone from Fusion 360 can explain this.

I am not sure that these warnings are the reason for the problems you see with moving components.

Maybe you can share your design so we can take a look at it.

I have had this problem before when component names are too long to fit inside the browser window. I notice you have a pretty long name on one of your components. Try scaling your browser window so it's wider, and then try moving components into other components. I believe this is a bug, but it drove me crazy for awhile.

I decided to start from the beginning. Whatever was causing the problem I don't know. I started more organized and without errors. Now I don't have this problem.
