Newbie here. I've learned a lot about F360 since finding it and consider myself more than a rank beginner, but far from adequate "average." I'd learned enough (to be dangerous) to use F360 to try and design some wood working projects. I have one version and am redoing it to implement some of the newer tools learned since then.

This week, after the latest F360 update (Fusion 2.0.19426 x86_64), I started to have odd difficulties;

1 - Bodies are no longer appearing as gray (default) 3D objects. Instead, they're appearing as various colors, along with a color bar at the top of the timeline entry. I figured this was an enhancement to help identify timeline entries between components/bodies, but now I also cannot get Appearance to work - at all. I run "A", assign the selected appearance, and while it shows while the Appearance tool is open, once I click "Close", the object returns to the newly colored 3D (without any appearance updates).

Also, I can no longer assign Physical Materials in many cases. I keep getting a "Cannot apply material to Faces" error, even though I have Body selected and it did work prior to the latest update. Also, if Fusion support reads this, the "More Info" link needs to be put somewhere other than (or in addition to) in the pop-up. It's impossible to click on that notice before the Material or Appearance window appears, and if you close the pop-up the notification is gone - so there's no way (that I've found) to see what the "more info" shows.

2 - I can no longer select any defined sketch profiles for tools like Extrude or Combine, especially if the desired body is the result of a Copy (not a move) or Mirror. Attempts will select an underlying object, but will NOT allow me to select the sketch profile. I have confirmed that the sketch is defined (all black lines and the Lock icon is on the Sketch element list entry.

3 - "Ground" is not longer possible. When I attempted to ground a joint, >Right-Click< shows "Unground" (I had not grounded the joint before as it hadn't even been defined before this). Ungrounding breaks the design - at least, I can not re-ground the joint (not sure why Grounding is necessary, but when I learned about designing dovetail joints, the tutorial indicated this as a step) - "ground" appears as grayed out (unselectable) 😞

I've attached my f3d (please don't laugh too hard at my design attempt :)). The problem I'm dealing with right now is trying to fix the 5th step (Extrude3 Base) where I'm trying to cut the vertical support groove from the base planks using the Groove sketch profile. Editing the feature shows "Missing ...," which is true (I redefined the groove design), but I cannot select the new groove.

I did uninstall and reinstall, but that didn't make a difference. My platform is Windows10 Pro.

Any suggestions would greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Item 1 is just colour cycling Press Shirt+N to enable\disable.

I think item 3 is because of a new feature, New Ground to Parent (GTP). See What's new. You can disable this to get the old workflow, Ground has become Pin.

You can disable in preferences.

Arg! I've been trying to figure this out for a day now 🙂

Obviously, I must had hit >Shift<-N accidentally (the bane of touch-typing skill). Had no idea this feature (colorization) was even possible.

I have no idea how "Profile" got deselected - I only use the Sketch Pallet (selection) panel to "Construction" flagging. I usually keep it hidden.

One additional question, if I may. I've been trying to figure out how to "hot" select orbit or pan, but can't find the shortcut. I can do it using the top right widget or the quick-tool on the bottom of the workspace, but it'd be nice to use the mouse or keyboard shortcut if possible (I believe I've seen some of the tutorial hosts doing it).

Thank you again, especially for the quick response.
