Well there are as always a few ways, Symmetry, equations. but I tend to use construction lines.

Put the equal constraint on the construction lines and the gaps will always be the same. You may also need a horizontal/vertical constraint or two depending on how free the centre rectangle is.

Hi all,

I'm working on a cabinet/hutch design for my home office and am trying to ensure all my sketches are parametric, so that if I end-up changing a dimension, everything auto adjusts. I believe I am doing well so far, but am stuck on a workflow that I can't wrap my head around how to properly contain this so I don't have to set a manual dimension.

Below is a screenshot of the section I am working on:

The Orange line is the distance I want to split in half so I can place the Red rectangle exactly 232mm on each side. The 18mm board thickness is a Parameter I've defined amongst many others, but I can't find the appropriate way to split the distance from the board on the left, to the board on the right edge Orange line.

I am sure there are more details you would want to help deduce a solution and I'm happy to help answer. While I am looking for a solution, I'm not looking for someone to outright point out how, but if there is a keyword, or sketch constraint which could help me do this, I am more than happy to read up and understand it better.

As always, thanks for the help and I hope this makes sense!!

The equal constraint is great, going to use that in a few other sketches now as well.
