Comparing load cases

I am currently trying to optimize an existing part which experiences a multitude of different load cases dependent on its use. I have multiple load cases set up in the simulation however it appears that only one can be selected at any one time, is it possible to run an optimization study across multiple load cases.

The optimization takes into account the load cases.

In the below images I have two studies, each with two load cases. To generate the second study, I cloned the first one and then modified the 2nd load case by editing the direction of the applied load.

You can see the result of each study is different.

Hi Nathan,

Thanks for getting back to me. Could you show me the second load case which is included in the study? In my case each load case will happen independently of each other, however obviously the final part will have to sustain each of these load cases in its operation.

I just want to confirm that even though I am only able to activate a single load case when editing the simulation all are taken into account during the actual optimization study.

Below are some images from the Same Design with the 1st load case activate in each study. The screenshots in my first post both had the 2nd load case activated.

You can only edit one load case at a time, so you have to activate them. As you can see, the simulation results will take into account multiple load cases independent of which load case is activated. Hope that helps!
