Same body means you have to "Model -> Modify -> Combine -> Join" the bodies. With a joint operation you still have two bodies but one assembly.

Perhaps those videos might help you:

I'm trying to create a coffee cup mold part and am about finished with it. However when I try to create a fillet where the handle ties into the cup, I can't figure out how to get Fusion360 to create it.

I originally had the handle further down on the cup body but for a couple of reasons, moved it up to be level with the cup's lip. The cup flares out at the top so the handle is interacting with two different curves - the lip flare towards the handle and cup's curving away from the handle.

Prior to moving the handle up, the fillet worked without issue. However now that the lip flare and handle intersect, I can't get it work.

No matter how I try to tell f360 to give me a larger fillet on the bottom of the handle and to taper to zero as it comes around to the top, I can't get f360 to do it. I've tried several times to create variable radius fillets but no luck.

Any help on how to create the filet would be appreciated.

I've made the cup public at http://a360.co/2iQ2TTs .

Fillets only work on bodies. The same body.

After you join the handle to the cup, it should work,

I am not sure you understand Rule 1 about components from your file.

The cup should be the component, with a handle joined to it.

Might help

I tried joining the handle to the body but the result was the same.

For some reason, the filet wants to close the handle as it did on the open end instead of meld the cup and handle.

What size/s variable fillet are you shooting for?

Fusion wont fillet this model due to the inaccuracy of aligning the handle to the cup rim. If you are able to align it, it may still be a problem with a concave to convex transition, not sure on that.

1st pic shows the intersection edge line in top view, both pics taken with section analysis active.
