Thank you for fast response!
Unfortunately, I can't share the exact files I'm working on, but here is an example file with the "workaround" method

I have to use at this point.

Ideally, I would like to have an option to "3d-revolve" a box in such a way to have the red-painted face round and smooth.

I believe the problem has been already described above way better than I am capable of, and the workaround was brilliantly visualised by blaisebarrette.

However, if anything about what I am trying to achieve wasn't clear, I will be happy to explain further.
Paweł

First post....

Trying to find a way to create a solid of a moving solid to be used to sculpt a fairing around. In my specific case, revolving a camera around an axis but could be more complex like the motion of the front tire of a car to be used to design a fender around (extent of joints rather than a simple revolve). I have used circular pattern to create several instances of an object which gets me by but the result is quite complex and bogs down computing resources.

Hopefully the attached image will clarify. My desire is the pattern on the right a continuous revolve of the solid on the left rather than steps.

Attempt to share: http://a360.co/2A2Qqa7

To my knowledge, this can't currently be done in Fusion. You could come close by making several intersect sketches and revolve the most protruding parts. But this would not be perfect.

I have created sections and revolved them into solids to be combined with circular pattern at extents but is a bit labor intensive and I'm lazy = )

Thanks for the confirmation, I sure can't find an easy solution.

@blaisebarrette wrote:

To my knowledge, this can't currently be done in Fusion.

I think you may have done that already. and this is far from the perfect solution but just in case... The point of the resulting object was to use it as a reference to sculpt around it, so...

In the following screencast is a technique that will produce a bunch of bodys using patterns. In this instance, I used "Circular pattern" but you could use "pattern on path".

You can make as many as you need for the better resolution but the more, the longer to process!

I must point out that this could only be used as visual reference since the result is not an object but a bunch of bodys.

Also note that it probably won't join using the "combine" command.

Also here is an image of what it could look like for a car tire "Circular patterned" around an axis.

Hope that helps!

Hi,
It has been almost 5 years since the last answer, and I have a very similar problem.
Has there been added a function in an update, or has anyone come up with a better way to do this?
If not, Is Autodesk maybe planning on adding such function?
Circular pattern would theoretically work for my application, but not very well.
Thank you in advance
Paweł
